カナダ留学レポート Vol.9

教育・心理学科4年 Y.U.さん

I left Toronto in May and currently live with a family who has 2 kids in Beaumont, Alberta. The place where I live is located just minutes South of Edmonton which is the capital city of Alberta.
I had been interested in “Workaway”, which is an international program that allows travelers to pay for their room and food by helping their host with household work needs and projects. I thought I could have more opportunities to apply what I learned in language school through this program. Also, I have wanted to learn about child development. We often share different cultures. For example, I cook Japanese food once a week, and their favorite one is Okonomiyaki. They have eaten it over 3 times and they look like they are having fun trying new type of food. The oldest girl is interested in Japanese culture and she often asks me some questions. This is a scene of everyday life. She was putting her daddy’s ice hockey uniform on because her dad likes to play hockey.

Here are some pictures taken in Banff.

It was definitely worth visiting. I enjoy hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities.
I have 2 weeks left to stay in Canada. I would like to gain new life experiences more.
